welcome to my little corner. i am erika, aka the inspired mama. i claimed this space on the web nearly four years ago to record our daily adventures in life. i have since met many, many wonderful friends through blogging- some near and others far.i am a very proud mama to five (yes, five!) beautiful and inspiring kids. we currently have two teenagers, two in grade school and a very bust toddler. there is never a dull moment in our home, and we are loving every second of it.
we spend a great amount of our free time creating and crafting- knitting sewing, dyeing and spinning our own yarn... a quick look around will reveal many of our projects.
i am passionate about family, home birth, breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, growing and eating organic food, and recycling/ reusing/ refashioning- recycle sewing has become a favorite hobby of mine!
we live in a small 1950's home that is a constant work in progress as we work to make it "home". our home may be tiny but our outside living space is rather large and there we have an ever-growing organic garden, free range, happy chickens and plenty of space for our kids to play and explore.
my amazing husband is my very best friend who supports me in all that i do. i met tony in 1998 and we were married in 2000. i assure you, none of this would be possible without him by my side!
