oh hey, a new season is approaching....

...affectionately referred to as BACK TO SCHOOL!
which means i have a new back-to-school project queue keeping me plenty busy. let me share.

i plan to sew this lunch bag for esme ::

i have become obsessed with bento boxes.

i want to sew some little snack bags like these, but i still need to find a food safe liner that i feel comfortable using. any ideas?

this dress is super cute and will be a fabulous project for the yards and yards of michael miller knits that i acquired this summer.

i found this adorable mushroom lunch bag tutorial this morning and when riley saw it he said "i want one!'

why, you ask, would a sixteen year old boy want a mushroom shaped lunch bag? his answer- simple. i'm a fun guy. enough said.

I love the bento boxes too, but found Planet Box (planetbox.com) and have to have it for my little girl who starts school in a couple of weeks. It's a little pricey, but everyone else I've talked to buys a new box almost every year and uses plastic bags or boxes which you don't have to with the planet box. I need to order soon!

That dress kills me! So incredibly cute. I'm totally a wimp when it comes to knits though... maybe it's about time I get over it.

I have made sandwich/snack bags for my family and just use regular PUL I bought to make diapers. The plastic part faces the patterned fabric and the cotton side faces the food, so I don't worry about food safety. That's me though...if you look about on Etsy for bags like this, you'll find all sorts of materials being used. Maybe that will give you an idea of what you're most comfortable with.
