i am trying to decide if i like this print. i love owls, and i usually love anything alexander henry creates. last night i was choosing some fabric to make some lightweight pants for harper and i almost added this one to my cart but changed my mind and bought a super cute guitar print instead. i think it is that one particular owl, towards the bottom on the right that is ruining it for me. he looks pretty darned angry, doesn't he? and of course every time i look at the photos of this fabric my eye is immediately drawn to him *sigh*so what do you think? creepy? would you sew it for your small child? have you sewn it for your child? please leave me a link so i can come see what you have created!

Hmm.. Yeah that's a little creepy. :P I don't think I would sew with it either.
My eye isn't as drawn to the creepy owl in the white print. That one is cute. The green print brings out the creepiness of the one owl though. :) I'd make it into something with a trim and do that in an ultra fun/cute pattern. All the other owls look friendly.

I asked my little owl-lover, and she said she loves it and would wear it! I do agree that the angry owl doesn't jump out as much in the white.
I would sew with it but I would move the pieces so the weird owl wouldn't be on my little ones clothing
hmm, i could go either way. he looks like a big grump owl, but if i really loved the fabric i would sew with it anyway.
He looks more pissed in the green print! Such a shame, the rest are so cute!
Well... when I first looked at the fabric (before I even read what about it bugs you) I thought it was a bunch of owls and a creepy old hunchbacked lady! :-O So, as for my opinion, I'd be afraid others would make this mistake (if they were just glancing at it like I did at first) and think I'd dressed my kid up in scary witch fabric! :-)
The other owls are very cute, though, and like others have said, the white print looks much less creepy.
ah, you are all so wise! i think i will order a yard of the owls on white and see how i like it. yep, yep, that grumpy owl doesn't look nearly as creepy on the white!

yep.. kinda creepy..
OMG, I love it! Even the creapy eyes. They look watchful. But I am weird right now when it comes to owls, snails, and mushrooms. So my judgement may be off.
